About

I specialize in designing creative, individualized lessons for elementary students who are struggling to learn and use phonics. My backgound includes Orton -Gillingham training and 30+ years of experience in reading intervention, especially with students with dyslexia. My approach is highly sequential, cummulative, intensive, and as multisensory as you can get for being online. In the last 2 years I have begun to work with 5 year olds and am excited about the successes in this area. I always give a free session with prospective parents to ask questions and view the types of activites I have created.

Mrs Rebeca is just amazing.! She is the sweetest, patient and most prepared tutor we have met. Being mom of two dyslexic kids we have had plenty of experience with tutors and we hope we will continue to have the blessing to work with Mrs Rebeca for a long time.
She has been working my 7yrs old boy for over 2 yrs. Because we had a dyslexic warrior at home already I could see some early signs of dyslexia with my boy before he started kindergarten so I asked Mrs Rebeca if she could put a program together for him. And she did. She is always prepared with great dynamic, fun but challenging material for my boy to work with. My little boy has been doing amazing and improved tremendously all around: decoding, fluency, comprehension, intonation, morphology and spelling. Im so proud of the work they do together every week. I highly recommend her!!

I feel so lucky that I found Ms. Rebecca! She has a very special way of connecting with my son even on line. I had some concerns about having an online tutor but Ms. Rebecca has eased all my concerns. I have seen amazing results with my son who is dyslexic. We started working together starting with her in October 2020 and my son was at a reading level of C/D and is now I almost at a J. And will also pick up a book to read on his own!

Rebecca has an abundance of experience and knowledge about reading. Our daughter was falling behind in reading comprehension and fluency. Due to COVID, we held sessions online. Rebecca had all her lessons premade for virtual lessons. Her techniques improved our daughters decoding skills, fluency, and comprehension! She increased her reading by six levels! She began ready over a year behind her grade and finished ABOVE grade level!!

Frequently asked questions

I take the time to explain to the student as well as the parents that dyslexia therapy involves going back over principles that the student might at first thinks that he or she knows. This process is most necessary to make sure that any small gaps in learning have been closed to build a solid foundation. The principals in these lessons will be presented in a unique way and as fast paced as the student's ability will allow.

- Masters of Education with a major in Learning Disabilities.

- Training at Scottish Rite Dyslexia Center to be an academic language therapist

- 25+ years working with dyslexic students in public school, private schools, and privately.

My rate is $50 an hour; however, with young children I find that three 20 -25minute sessions a week is great way to begin. Therefore, the $50 is actually a weekly rate.
