About
I really relate to students and connect personally to explain math principles and reasoning in a way that makes sense to the individual. I have taught math at the middle school level for seven years.
Most students believe that I teach (or in this case tutor) because I absolutely love math. This is not the case. I really enjoy mathematical and the concepts have always fascinated, but I do what I do because I enjoy helping young people and giving back to my community.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have found the best way to maximize my time with students I tutor is for the student to be aware of the specific concepts they need help with. I don’t want to waste student time teaching material the student already has mastered. Assignments, study guides, test remediation, and homework assignments are some good examples of what we use to guide sessions, but knowing specifically where a student is having trouble within these assignments and targeting each misconception ensures I can make the most out of our time together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught middle school for eight years and this past school year I tutored six kids on a weekly basis ranging from 5th grade to a senior in high school. One student I am currently working with is test prep for the SAT.
