About
Since college, I have been always willing to help fellow students. Knowing how complex computer programming could be, I assisted other students, sometimes in small groups, most of the times on one-to-one sessions, I provided the understanding and helped them navigate the concepts of computer programming.
This passion for teaching and helping students has remained for years, becoming without realizing a complementary side job. These last years, thanks to the different online platforms, I have been able to reach many more students, from local, to even form outside the country. For me is also a learning experience and I get great satisfaction when my students have satisfactorily completed their assignments with flying colors.
I have over 25 years of experience as a software engineer with a Master's in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) During all these years, I have become familiar with multiple platforms, operating systems, programming languages, and more. Among the languages I have worked on I can mention Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, Pascal, Fortran, Avenue (Legacy ArcView scripting language), Visual Basic, SQL.
Like I always said to former students, I'm not here just to help you with your classes, I will strive to make sure you understand the concepts, provide you with advice, tips, and tricks you can apply on your journey to learn computer programming.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I initially try to do a quick assessment to learn the level of understanding the student has of the concepts. I then start from the most basics where the student may have issues, using simple language and easy to understand examples, progressively moving forward into more complex topics.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from college as a Software Engineer, and later on pursued my passion for geography and got a Masters in Science in Geographic Information Systems
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a standard base price per hour. Depending on the number of lessons, or if it's intended for small groups, I can adjust this in order to accommodate the individual's needs.
How did you get started teaching?
I started in college as a teaching assistant to a programming professor
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with High school students taking AP computer programming classes. College students taking programming 101. Individuals looking to learn new languages.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Contact your potential tutor first. Ask some questions related to your subject to assess if the tutor is capable of providing you with a simple understandable answer.
