My name is Jessica, and I am a certified, professional English teacher for a K-12 school. I have over eight years of teaching experience and hold the following endorsements: Reading, ESOL, and Gifted. My services include reading comprehension, grammar and spelling as well as the writing process. I work with trusted, knowledgeable teachers for all subject grade levels including FSA and SAT Test Prep. As a parent and educator, it is important that we establish a routine for our children during this difficult time in our world. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Usually, I will review the student's current assignments as well as the standards needed for them to achieve the best possible scores in school as well as on standardize assessments. As a professional certified teacher, I know how difficult this can be, especially if you are working. I do not just help with assignments. By reinforcing the current skills taught in school, students will see academic growth which can never be achieved by memorizing material. In addition to having over 8 years of experience instructing elementary, middle, and high school students, I have numerous resources targeted to meet the specific needs of each student. How did you get started teaching?
Although I graduated from college with a Bachelors in English, my background is in the financial arena. I never dreamed I would work in the field of education; however, this all changed once I had my two precious children. After volunteering as a stay home mom for many years, I realized teaching is my passion!

Because of my experience, I have had the pleasure of working with children from a variety of backgrounds and developmental levels, which is essential as each student learns differently. I have passion, knowledge, and most of all-compassion!
