About

Tutoring is not just a way for me to make money. It's a way for me to help shape the next generation of scientists, health providers, and educators. I love knowing how things work, imparting that knowledge to others, and training students how to think. As a current full-time teacher with over 7 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I have learned a thing or two about education. Namely, not everyone learns best in the same way or at the same pace. Bad grades are not a sign of unintelligence. That is why a tutor can be so helpful, especially one who will recognize the intelligence of the student, adapt to the student's learning needs, and encourage him or her to keep at it. Through tutoring, I aim to equip students with knowledge and critical thinking skills so that they can not only ace their classes but also make an impact in their communities, their country, and the world at large.

I have a M.S. degree in Biology with an Emphasis in Education and a B.S. degree in Biology with a Concentration in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. I currently serve as an Upper School Science Teacher at a private school in Orlando, FL.

I typically charge around $30/hr

I started tutoring college biology as a Peer Tutor at my university. I absolutely loved breaking down complex topics for the students. There's nothing quite like seeing a student have an "aha" moment and become excited about a topic I care so deeply about.

College and High School

Recently, I was teaching a lesson on DNA replication and one of my students was asking some questions about the process. As we were conversing about it, the "lightbulb" turned on in her head. She got really excited about it and so did I. That is why I teach/tutor.
Find a teacher who is excited about science and has a passion for sharing that excitement and knowledge with others. Find a teacher who cares about you as an individual and your educational goals.
Think about whether or not you are willing to put in the hard work that your teacher/tutor asks you to do. Being tutored is not a passive experience. If it is, you won't get much out of it. You must be willing to work hard, dive in deep, explore, actively participate, and engage with the details of the content.
