About

Hello!

I have been active in my school district since 2016 beginning as a substitute teacher (K-12), moving into an instructional assistant role and am now in my second year as an elementary education teacher! I am an avid reader and have been working with the Leveled Literacy Intervention program since 2018. I enjoy aiding students with topics like comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, phonemic awareness and more! I enjoy science and history as well!

I wish you the best of luck in your studies!

I enjoy seeing the "aha" moment! I love when students transition or phase out of one lesson or concept and into the next with a sense of pride. It truly is a great experience to watch someone struggling catch that lightbulb and feel the excitement of finally "getting it".

Frequently asked questions

Working within the school system has allowed me to truly understand the needs of students when it comes to tutoring. I always start with getting to know him/her first. I initiate dialogue about interests, hobbies, anything positive that doesn't have to do with the subject being studied. I feel this helps build that very important relationship you need to have in order to reach a student. From there, it is listening and catering the session to the student's needs.

I have been working with my school system since 2016. I have experience as a substitute teacher, an instructional assistant and am currently in my second year of teaching in an elementary setting. I have worked with Kindergarten through 12th grade in many cities in my county. I have worked with Title 1 for the past three years, specifically in the Leveled Literacy Intervention program with their students in small groups and one on one tutoring.

I am working currently on a "name your price" system. I am interested in earning extra money and helping students succeed. :)

I began in 2016 as a substitute teacher and fell in love with the work. I earned an instructional assistant position in 2017 and worked with a Title 1 school. This is my second year as a teacher having taught fifth grade last year and now e-learning fourth grade.

I have worked with one on one and small group tutoring with Title 1 students. Several were ESOL; some were MTSS. In my almost four years, I have worked with every grade level in some capacity. I work with those who have 504 plans and IEPs. I work wtih gifted and special learning needs as well.

I enjoyed watching the students in my current school "phase out" of the LLI program I taught. It is amazing to see the progress they made and the pride they had in grasping the concepts after the individual help and group sessions all year.

I would suggest s/he ask for experience and education, but also interest in the field. It is easy to tell the difference between those who are doing it for the money and those who are truly passionate about aiding students.

I would always suggest students look over the work prior to asking questions. It is so helpful to be concise and ready for the answer. Sometimes students find it overwhelming with all the new information in the lesson. Breaking it down is very helpful for both the student and the tutor or teacher.
