About
I hold a degree in Hispanic Language and Literature from the University of Havana and a qualification in English Language from the "Abraham Lincoln" Language School in Havana. I have over 15 years of teaching experience, having taught Spanish and literature to secondary and higher education students in both my home country (Cuba) and the United States.
Teaching languages has long been a passion of mine due to the rewarding nature of the results—specifically, seeing students enter my classroom with little knowledge and leave empowered to perform better in their personal and social lives.
This is one of the aspects of my work that I enjoy the most.
I define my teaching approach as eclectic; while I incorporate classic elements—such as grammar, vocabulary, and conversation—I also draw upon literature, particularly from Latin America, to illustrate the concepts covered in class.
This method has yielded excellent results for me, and it is the approach I intend to continue using in this role.
