Math Tutoring
About
I am a seasoned educator with 19 years of classroom experience. I have been tutoring privately since 2002. I am certified in both Middle and High Schoool Mathematics and have experience tutoring at the college level.
I can help your student identify their weaknesses in math and overcome them. I have helped students with a few sessions to prepare for a particular test or exam. I have also helped students over multiple years. I do not tutor in Statistics.
I will meet with students in public at libraries, coffee shops, etc., or in the student's home so long as a parent is home the entire session. I enjoy the immediate impact I have in working one-on-one with students. It brings instant job satisfaction to me and is something I do not get to do enough of in the classroom.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, we concentrate on supporting assignments or upcoming tests in the classroom. Students' strength and weaknesses tend to show very quickly. I can easily identify prerequisite skills that they have missed and act quickly to shore up that past knowledge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Educational Specialist degree and 19 years of classroom experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Mt rates are $50 for a 60-minute session and $70 for a 90-minute session.
How did you get started teaching?
A friend of mine in school administration reached out to me at a time when I was looking for a new career. I have never looked back since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from middle school through college.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The more you have prepared before you meet with a tutor, the more you can get out of the session. Earnestly attempt homework and test reviews to identify what specific problems you feel unsure of. You do not want to waste your time going over material you have already mastered.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Being tutored takes effort. Ask yourself if you are ready to do the work needed to improve your skills. Tutors cannot fix apathy.
