Hello students! My name is Teacher Brittany. am an ESL teacher online and with the New York Yankees (yes, the ⚾️ team).
I work really well with children and teens. I give a lot of positive encouragement and make students feel safe. I love to help students apply the material to their own life so that they connect with what they're learning. I love to ask deep questions and get students thinking critically.
I approach education from a holistic perspective; I like to give students social, cultural and historical context behind what they're learning so they can understand the deeper meaning.
I am also an excellent writer, and have a sixth sense for grammar errors. So bring your papers, blog posts, and novels my way; in English or Spanish!
Having learned a second language as an adolescent, I am very conscious of the language development process. My preferred method of teaching relies less on repetition of someone else's ideas, and favors self-expression of ones own thoughts and feelings.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Hello new students!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two BA's from the University of South Florida, in Spanish and International Studies.
I currently teach English as a Second Language online, and am an English teacher for the New York Yankess during baseball season!

My standard pricing is $25-35 an hour depending to your educational and curriculum needs!
How did you get started teaching?
I have tutored throughout high school and college, but my first teaching job was with the Yankees! I always wanted to be a teacher because I'm passionate about education, but I wanted to teach within an alternative sturcture to the public school system. The Yankees and online teaching was perfect for me!
