I have been tutoring students in math, reading, and English for more than 20 years. I hold a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State as well as a TEFL certificate from the University of Toronto. Additionally, I hold a TEYL certificate and a Grammar Expert certificate from Global Learning Institute.
For the past 4 years, I have been teaching ESL online in Asia.
I am the author of several curricular materials including Reading Made Easy and Reading Made Easy for English Language Learners.
I enjoy helping students discover their potential and overcome their learning anxieties.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to have an interview with the student first to determine the student's needs and expectations.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters in Education in Children's Literature in Curriculum and Instruction as well as several certificates for Teaching English as a Second Language.
I have taught ESL online for the past 5 years in Asia.
I have taught Reading and Language Arts to native English speakers for more than 20 years.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My basic fees are:
$35 for a 30-minute class.
$55 for a 60-minute class.
I believe instruction should be incremental and ongoing. Therefore, I offer multi-class discounts. Classes held three times per week offer the best outcome for student progress.
2 times per week for a 30-minute class is $65 per week.
3 times per week for a 30-minute class is $90 per week.
2 times per week for a 60-minute class is $100 per week.
3 times per week for a 60-minute class is $135.00 per week.
How did you get started teaching?
I began tutoring when I was in high school and college. Tutoring has been a life-long calling for me. I love working one-on-one with students or in small group settings.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with Native English speakers as well as with Chinese and Korean students living in Asia. I enjoy working with children ages 5-19.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Unfortunately, this pandemic has been devastating; however, my expertise with online teaching and curriculum development has enabled me to connect with people all over the world. This is something that I love.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A teacher who has expertise in both teaching and curriculum development is the best choice. A teacher with these qualifications can adapt the learning environment to meet the needs of the individual student.
