Frequently asked questions

How did you get started teaching?
How it all started:
After graduating with my degree in business and starting in a management training program with a national restaurant chain, I soon realized that the title and salary were not enough, something was missing... and don't even get me started with the lack of work-life balance...
Luckily for me, the stars aligned and I was able to take a sabbatical year in 2014 and travel abroad. I volunteered to do different things, one of which was teaching. After my first class finished and the last student had left, I took a sigh and thought to myself "What was this? I want to do more of it!".
Not long after I had my TEFL Teacher Certification and began teaching at Language Schools back in South Florida, and tutoring different subjects.
In 2019 I got my HS Math Teacher Certification through the American Board for Teaching Excellence.
Then, the pandemic happened.
After being bored at home for some months, I got busy with my latest project: TutorAna [dot com] offering self-paced content, Live Classes, and innovative tutoring. All designed with ingenuity and love.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children, teenagers, adults...and adults that act like teenagers.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Try before you buy! you might have to test out different tutors to get a sense of what teaching style works for you. Look for more than content expertise, personality, teaching style, and effectiveness are just as important. The goal is that you understand/learn.
