About
I am an enthusiastic teaching professional with a strong dedication to the total development of children. I am a caring and qualified Elementary School teacher who wants to provide the best most effective education possible. I create and teach meaningful lesson plans and activities that assist in developing young minds. I am creative and love to find new ways to teach curriculum in order to provide a variety of ways for students to learn.
I graduated from the Universoty of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have around 8 years of experience teaching elementary school aged children. I have taught at schools in North Carolina as well as schools in Sarasota, Florida and Bradenton, Florida. I have a Florida Teaching License for Grades K-6. As a teacher I communicate my expectations and curriculum requirements to reinforce classroom goals. I communicate student progress and areas needing improvement to parents. I design, implement, and adapt lesson plans and work to meet students' individual needs and current state and district standards. I establish and maintain relationships with my students and parents. I maintain comprehensive student records documenting attendance, grades and progress towards goals. In the classroom I maintain high classroom management and behavior management standards and adapt these management sysems when working individually with students. I evaluate students' progress towards their goals and objectives through assessments like worksheets, homework, quizzes, and tests. I create instructional materials appropriate for students with wide range of mental, physical and emotional maturities. In a classroom setting I collaborate with my grade level teams and facilitators to create activities, assessments, and lessons to help keep the entire grade level learning the same materials. I develop anchor charts for specific skills taught to help aid the students understanding and implementation of the skills. When I can I attend training sessions to help expand my knowledge of educational practices, curriculums, and anything else to help with the education of my students.
I love seeing my students learn and expand their knowledge. When they get that aha moment about a subject they were struggling with brings so much joy to teaching. I love being another role model, teacher, and mentor to children and helping them the best way I can.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I feel it is very important to get to know the students I teach and for them to know their teacher/tutor. When working with a new student or students I bring some get to know you activites so that a student-teacher relationship can start and lead to the child being able to be succsessful in his/her academics. I also bring some short activities to assess what level the child is currently working at. This helps me learn more about the students and what kinds of activites I need to prepare to have with me to help my students become stronger learners.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in elementry education. I graduated with honors in 2010. I have taught kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade in the classroom and have taught 3rd grade and 5th grade in after school tutoring sessions. I love teaching and working with children.
