Fun English And Spanish Teacher

My name is Mike Schapiro. I have a Master's degree in TESOL from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. My Bachelor's degree is in Spanish Language and Literature. My experience teaching English spans six years. I recently completed my scholarship with the U.S. State Department's Fulbright Program in Colombia, South America, during which I taught English to high school students. I also have taught in Costa Rica, community colleges, and Washington University of Virginia. Teaching is a passion for me, and it is important that my students enjoy the learning process. My classes are very conversational and based on the communicative approach. This means that every conversation is meaningful and purposeful and students start speaking within minutes of the start of class. In class, we laugh, learn about each other, and find creative ways to use language. Learning a language is a process, and I am happy to guide students through it.
