One thing I try to do with all of my lessons is cater to the needs of the student. After 6 years of tutoring, I've learned to consider the specific needs of a student to help them succeed. Are we preparing for a test, a project, or general knowledge? Does the student learn more from visuals, explanations, or working out on their own? These are some of the questions I like to ask to give the student the best learning possible in a way that's engaging and informative.
One of the things I enjoy most about the work is connecting with students and doing it in a safe, comfortable learning space. I love sharing the feeling a student has when they just "get" a concept. Overall I like to make learning fun and interesting, rather than just a boring lecture.
