I am an experienced, former elementary teacher and retired college librarian with more than 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience.

I love to teach children phonics, reading, math, logic, and see them love to learn! Nothing is better than the sparkle in their eyes when they now get it!

I teach phonics in depth, but do use what each child needs to learn, whether it be from a public or private school. Reading is the essence and foundation for all of education.

    Frequently asked questions

    The first lesson with a new student is an evaluation for me to see the student's needs. It is free with the parent present.

    I work with the parent as to the time and number of lessons. My recommendation is for an hour session at a time.

    Each lesson is customized according to each student's needs and is adjustable from lesson to lesson. I give suggestions to the parents for what they can do at home. Parents may stay during the tutoring session if they desire.

    I do need to have the student be fragrance free.
