About

I have a passion for learning and teaching. I spend my days as attorney - having graduated from law school in 2014. In my current job, I spend large portions of my day teaching/coaching employers of all shapes and sizes on complying with various employment laws and developing and maintaing positive working environments. In my free time, I'm an enthusiastic and dedicated reader/listener/observer - my mornings filled with my favorite newspapers, day time podcasts, and evening books, documentaries and yes, back to the podcasts. This enthusiasm for a variety of ways of learning, particularly via today's great informational podcasts, is what makes me an excellent teacher. I'm able to take what sometimes seems like "boring" or mundane subjects and make them come to life. THIS, in my opinion, is the greatest way to learn. When students of all ages and abilities are legitimately interested in the subject matter, they tend to absorb and retain the information. I approach teaching in this manner, as if telling a story, taking students on the journey, keeping things exciting.

This art of making the things that I love - history, political science, government and legal studies - come to life is what makes me unique and sets me apart. This is a hobby for me - getting a chance to spread some of my passion and storytelling to others in the hopes that they will learn the subject matter and, if not become totally enthralled by it as I am, at least develop a much deeper respect and understanding for it.

    Frequently asked questions

Unlike many others, I try not to have a one-size-fits all approach to working with students.  Everyone has different goals in mind and learns differently - so the only constant in my intake process is to understand the student's goals and try and get a sense for how the student feels he/she learns information the best.  The next step(s) will depend on how that conversation goes - while my style certainly is best-suited to students who like/prefer a lot of interaction and some measure of getting to know one another to build some trust, I also understand that people's lives are busy and unique.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida in 2011 and my Law Degree (cum laude) from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2014.

I can't say it loudly enough that passing on knowledge (and hopefully some enthusiasm) is one of my greatest strengths and my ultimate hobby.  So with that definition of "teaching" in mind, I've been teaching for many years, but certainly as often as possible since becoming an attorney in 2014.

It depends on the subject matter - though my areas of interest and my teaching style tend to work best with high school ages, as well as at the collegiate and professional levels.

The world is chaotic right now - so I'm always fond of events that highlight the brightside and the humanity of ordinary people in a moment of crisis.  These moments to me are the small ones, the ones that don't make the headlines and might only be noticed within small social media circles or witnessed in public - but the acts of kindness for our friends, neighbors and even complete strangers in this global crisis continue to inspire me that we are an extraordinary people.

Treat this the way you would if you were purchasing a car - you don't have to go with the very first car you test drive.  Sometimes it's a perfect match instantly, but more often you need to spend some time searching for what suits you best.  Don't be afraid to move on to the next teacher if he/she (or me!) doesn't seem to quite fit your learning style.  This is important, you're spending money on it and you should see a great value for your financial investment!

This is unique to the student and difficult to give a one-size-fits-all answer.  But students should look for someone that is able to communicate effectively in the manner in which the student absorbs and learns material the best.  Also, quite frankly you should also look for a teacher that isn't a total snooze! Again, you're spending money on this.  Find someone that not only can help you learn and understand the material, but finds way to make it exciting!
