About
When I was little I absolutely hated math. I would do anything to avoid doing it. However, in fourth grade I had a great teacher who really took the time to help me understand. I then realized that it wasn't math or numbers that I hated at all, it was confusion. Once my teacher helped me build a solid foundation, I learned to love math. Calculus 1, 2, & 3, linear algebra and trigonometry were fun but my passion lies with college algebra. There was no gray area like in the proof writing courses of the upper math classes, just black and white answers. I have been tutoring friends and family for about ten years now. I have a math minor from Southern Connecticut State University and I am very interested in spreading the joy that math can bring.
Math has really made a difference in my life. I currently work in the finance industry and you would be surprised how many people dread dealing with the daily basic math. Once I had a strong foundation, I quickly realized how vital math is in day to day life. I want to share my passion for math with others so that they don't have that feeling of dread everytime they have to calculate a certain percentage for fees. Math doesn't have to be that dark stormy rain cloud that looms over you. Math can be fun and once students are able to break problems down into a step by step process it's easy!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I am a step by step thinker, so I like to separate all of my major math problems into basic math calculations. I like to ask probing questions to gauge the person's foundation and then go from there.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I currently work in the finance industry so I report to the office on weekdays. This has not changed due to COVID-19. My standard pricing is $20 an hour online and $30 an hour if I'm traveling to you.
