Kai Math And Science Tutoring
About
I've had experience tutoring since middle school. I started with teaching my friends around me and helping them keep up with challenging material. Since then I've only developed and honed my teaching skills through different experiences and jobs. I'm incredibly passionate and believe that everyone has the ability to succeed in science and math. I have experience with kids as young as four as well as people returning to school to finish their degrees. I also have experience working with neurodiverse individuals and helping them thrive in their courses.
I absolutely enjoy turning fear of science and math into confidence. There is a lot of pressure to do well and it can make people get inside their heads about it. Being able to see people grow and turn around and be able to no longer stress about these subjects is awesome.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Getting to know the student, figuring out their current level of understanding and setting up expectations on both my end and their end.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences and working towards my Master's in Neuroscience. I have experience teaching math K-12, as well as adult learners, for the past three years. I also have recently received my temporary teaching license for 6-12 Mathematics and 9-12 Biology in the state of Florida
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't be afraid to let the tutor/teacher know if it's not a good fit. A large chunk of having successful support is feeling like you and the tutor's styles match - without it, it might not be a good fit.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask about how they teach, if there are any expectations from you in your session and ask if you need any accommodations or expect them to bring any additional materials and things of that matter.
