I got started in education because , I had trouble in school myself and really felt this would help me help students. I have been in education for quite a few years. I have a bachelor's degree in History/Secondary Education and a master's degree in Curriculum and Technology. For the past several years I have taught online MS-HS World History.
I am in process of renewing my Florida Teacher License

I enjoy seeing students realize they can learn and acheive their goals. Each person has their way they learn best, I love helping student discover that and then guide them on how to apply that knowldge to their different courses.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
20+years experience in Education. Cerified in Social Studies 6-12 and Sped K-12 (process of renewing). Have my Reading and ESOL endorsement. Taught online education Social Studies past 6 years. Tutored for Social and Behavioral Science professors Economics, Anthropology, US and World History.
How did you get started teaching?
I had trouble with school as a student. I forunately had a couple of teachers in HS that made learning absolutely not boring and fun. I was really inspired by them and I wanted other students like me to know learning can be fun and not so boring.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from last chance programs through advanced programs and a myriad of in between groups. Students who just need a little help to students who need step by step support long termj. Each student is different.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
While teaching an online course and also being an Academic advisor, I had the pleasure of working with a family who had 3 siblings who all were able to graduate despite their serious health issues.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Know your goals, How do you like to learn? -seeing the information/how to, hands on, hearing the information/how to, a combination or maybe some other way? What are your time restrictions, if any?
