Jahmelia Smith

Hello I attend Barry University and I am currently a sophomore studying computer science and specializing in Cyber Security. I attended Bayside High School in Palm Bay, FL and graduated in 2022. I completed my math as well as my english class in both semesters of my first year with a 100 percent. My gpa is currently a 3.7 and I am on the dean's list. Coming from an individual with a younger sibiling, I was always the one helping her with her homework because my mom was not around. At the age of 2 years old, I began teaching her things like her ABC, 123, Math equations, and Reading skills at a 3rd grade level. This was later recognized by her teachers because they were blown away by the information she already knew to the point where she was teaching her other classmates how to read and do math by the age of 4. She is now 13 years old and when I get the chance to go home or call, I always make sure to teach her and keep her up to date with her school work. I also did tutoring in my first year of college to help out students in my class that weren't grasping the material of what was being taught. Additionally, I assist my friends who are at the same grade level as I am who have a hard time grasping the material being taught by their teachers.
