About
Hi! My name is Fouzia. I am a student at Harvard College studying Biomedical Engineering and received a perfect math score on the PSAT, SAT, Math I and Math II exams as well as 5s on my AP Calculus AB and BC exams. I tutor SAT, PSAT, Calculus, pre-Calculus, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and English Reading and Writing as well as Grammar/essay. I started tutoring in high school (over 6 years ago) and have helped students mostly in Miami-Dade regions.
I also have advised students for college admissions. My mentees have been accepted to Harvard, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, UC Berkley, Brown, and Northwestern.
I currently teach courses in signal processing and biomechanics. I have a strong foundation in Python and MATLAB and have taken mostly engineering coursework for my degree including Intro to Robotics, Biological Signal Processing, Intro to Electronics and Circuits, MEMS Fabrication, and Statistics for Engineers.
I tailor all of my materials and instruction based on student interest and find ways to come up with challenging problems that pique students interests. I start each session off with a fun question/story to build a better relationship with my student and really try to get to know them to better understand their thinking style. I also provide college/career advice if needed.
My goal as a tutor is not only to ensure the success of the student in the classroom but beyond, in developing better learning strategies that will carry them throughout their academic journey.
