About
I've been working with students for over 10 years specializing in helping students with learning disabilities (i.e. A.D.H.D and Dsylexia) and intellectual disabilities ( i.e. Autism and Down syndrome). Helping many students on multiple topics from phonetics to writing, math k-8th, science and homework support for all grades.
I love seeing my students gain confidence in their own abilities and grow in their learning.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depending on the topic or if homeschooling , I may make an informal assessment to see what strength and weakness the student has so I can hone in on what they specifically need. If homework support, I start by doing homework with the student to see what habit may be holding them back or what skill they need sharpening in. Of course, always talking with parents is a plus because they always know their child best and what they struggle or succeed at best.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years of experience as a freelance tutor with a A.A. in Art and Art Education, and a bachelor's in arts in Psychology. I also am trained in Educational Therapy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$25 per hour for 3-5 times a week.
$20 per hour for 2 hours a day 3-5 times a week.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a teacher's assistant in a tutoring center that used the Lindenmoore Bell technique to help students and specialized in helping students with learning and intellectual disabilities.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all grades with all levels of learning abilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had been working with a student for 3 years. We had started at a 2nd grade level when they where in 6th grade and by the end of the 3 years they were working at 6th grade level, meaning the student had conquered 5 grade levels in 3 years! Best of all, the student had become an independent learner and had great learning confidence.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I'm here to help you develop your problem solving skills so eventually you can tackle any learning problem on your own.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Always ask what resources(i.e. after school tutoring, extra credit, online programs) are available for you in school to advance.
What areas they believe you could improve in and especially what areas you are strong in.
Always have your parent's support.
