I love to make reading fun with games, movement based activities, and by using multi-sensory activities. I have over 10 years experience as a dyslexia practitioner amd early literacy specialist.
My strength is working with students with dyslexia or wiggly students that need a little bit of extra confidence.
I was a special educator in Boston, MA at a top 5 performing public school prior to moving to Miami. Over the course of the last 4 years, I have been supporting homeschool families, tutoring struggling readers, coaching local teachers on best practices, and helping tutors around the world learn how to teach online by connecting with their student and replicating the in-person experience.

Michelle is highly qualified, educated and dedicated! She makes personal lesson plans for my child and quickly assess her strengths and weaknesses- what to focus on and what skill she has mastered. She makes learning fun! My child is always laughing with her - but Michelle knows how to quickly redirect when my child gets off task! She is fantastic! I wish I could clone her to be my child’s full time teacher! I would highly recommend her. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I provide a complimentary consult call to hear about your child’s strengths and challenges. Then we have a fun “Meet and Greet” and informal assessment of desired skills (Reading, Writing, Math) ; I establish goals and have a phone conference to and determine amount of weekly sessions. I am also available to provide a baseline assessment if you are waiting for a psycho educational evaluation.

How did you get started teaching?
I’ve worked with kids in various jobs my entire life. After I received my teaching degree, I wanted to learn more about learning difficulties, so I started my masters in teaching moderate disabilities. I learned so much about kids challenges and did several internships that I solely wanted to focus on that population. I was fortunate enough to be in a top performing school in Massachusetts that focused on helping kids with dyslexia. Then, my true love was discovered I wanted to learn everything I could about how to help kids learn to read. This grew to larger in scale during the pandemic where I started supporting others globallybon how to teach online successfully.
What types of students have you worked with?
Dyslexic, ADHD, specific learning disabilities , executive functioning difficulties etc.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been working with a 7 year old who was not getting the reading support she needed in a Montessori school. Her parents took her out and decided to homeschool her. Within three weeks, I have seen little light bulbs going off as the strategies I share help her. Also, I presented to a Boston-based company about the positive benefits of online teaching and key components of a successful lesson for kids with ADHD and Dyslexia.
