Greater Potential Tutoring
About
The moment you see a student's eyes light up when they've truly grasped a concept is the moment you know you're doing your job as a teacher. And we're going to see alot of these moments together. I promise to make complicated concepts simple using the funniest analogies, the most fun DIYs to play around with and the most contagiously enthusiastic attitude to Science. Let's Go!
Mr Singh - BSc. Chemistry, minor Analytical Chemistry.
I have been a tutor for over 10 years taught in the school system
My teaching style is interactive, passionate and fun. I love creating an atmosphere that gets students interested in science and watch them grow to understand concepts they once thought were difficult until they even begin asking thought provoking questions.
Guiding Students along the path to understanding the world around them better through science is one of my greatest enjoyments.

How did you get started teaching?
I have always had an acute passion for teaching and so I signed up for a teaching position in the public school system as a Chemistry teacher.
Even before this though, I had been a tutor to kids in my area and so gained the level of experience necessary. After I left the public School system, I still kept tutoring on the side because giving students that "aha!" moment is just a really great feeling. And it's been 10+ years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students primarily between the ages of 14 to 18, both boys and girls. These students have had different types of learning speeds and learning preferences. These have included: Visual, By repitition, hands on and even through regular quizzing.
I have had to tailor lessons plans and tutoring methods to meet each of their varying needs
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am particularly proud of a moment I have had with a student who has been confused for years by the mole concept in chemistry. When I used my method of imparting foundational knowledge and building on it until he understood the concept, the "aha!" moment he had was one I will always look back on and be fond of.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
1. Make sure you find a teacher who will impart foundational knowledge of chemistry like the periodic table and build on those concepts.
2. Find a teacher who has the patience to stop the class and explain anything you don't understand.
3. Find a teacher who is willing to tailor lessons plans and strategies to your needs as a student.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What part of learning something new do I enjoy the most?
How do I usually remember things best?
Can I explain these concepts from first principles?
