Step By Step Math Tutoring

I have a Bachelors in Secondary Mathematics Education. I currently teach at a Christian private school for special needs kids. I have been tutoring math since high school. I have experience teaching/tutoring: elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, algebra 2, pre-calc/trig , intro statistics, and SAT Math.

Math never came easy to me, but that did not stop me from liking it! I firmly believe practice leads to mastery, and if you can teach a math concept to someone else, you know for sure you mastered the concept. So when anyone says there is no way to study math, I say yes there is! Write the same problem over and over again until you get the problem right without looking back at your notes! I recommend doing that on whiteboard or scrap sheets of paper.

I want help student meet expectation from their teacher, professor, or parent. I find it help when the person I tutor already have a textbook provided by the school and notes from teacher. I would like to know if none old that material is provided and so I can prepare material before the session.

I do have Zoom account, which allow me to teach online. My document camera allow the person I'm tutoring to see what I'm writing on paper.

My fee is $25.

I always found teaching math a rewarding experience. I feel proud when my students begin to gain confidence in math. I always do my best to find a way for students to understand a math concept.

For example, I had a student who couldn't memorize his math facts and needed to learn how to multiply two digits by two digits. For three weeks, with fact chart in front of him, I had him follow steps by using color code shapes around numbers, to help him remember. Then one day, he did the problem correctly, without out that shapes, and did these type or problems correctly without any mistakes! It's one of my best teaching moments I can never forget.
