About
I am a 5th year elementary teacher of exceptional and general education students. I currently hold a professional teaching license in Elementary Education K-6 and Exceptional Student Education K-12 in the State of Florida. I have been teaching in Auburndale, FL since the start of my educational career in 2017. I enjoy working with reading and math, but I am currently teaching fifth grade math. I enjoy helping all students and seeing them make gains in areas that were once challenging for them. Because everyone has different learning styles, I hope to help every student find the unique learning strategies they may need to help them succeed in whatever academic area they may lack in.
I love making a difference in the life of every student I work with. Whether it's through identifying strategies to help build knowledge of academic practices or building confidence within to achieve personal goals, I love to play a positive role in helping each student achieve greatness at their full potential.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When beginning tutoring with a new student, I provide mini lessons on grade level tasks to see their mastery level. Once I determine that level, I provide practice work to increase knowledge of basic skills. Once student begins masterng basic level skills, I begin working with grade level standards-based tasks to keep the student on track in school.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a fifth year teacher certified in Elementary Education K-6 and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) K-12. This means that I can assist with any elementary level academic subject along with any ESE practices for students with special needs.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Because I am a certified teacher and hold a master's level degree, my tutoring prices will start at $40 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I became a substitute in October 2017 for my county to get a feel of what teaching would be like. Became a building substitute at one specific school then hired full time at the same school as a long term susbstitute by August 2018. After becoming a long term substitute, I received all of my certifications to become a certified teacher by November 2019.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all elementary grade levels through subbing and teaching. I taught ESE self-contained for my first 4 years of teaching. I am now moving on to fifth grade mathematics.
