My name is Maura Rivera. I am 31 years old and I am a multiaged teacher teaching 4th and 5th grade in one classroom.I have been a teacher since 2010. I have received my Bachelors Degree in 2009 in Early Childhood Education from Florida International University in Miami, FL. I am Dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every child. I am also a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated educator who wants all children to be successful learners.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first start off with an Ice breaker with the student that way I able to get to know the student and the student is able to get to know me. Also, once we have finished with our ice breaker I like to assess the student and see where they fall academcially. Once I see what the student can do that is how I am able to help the student improve where they are struggling and be able to introduce material the student is able to start learning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been to FLOCS leadership conference . I have had training on Kagan Strategies.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all students from ESE students to ELL students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I am here to help you overcome any obstacles you are facing in school and academically.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are some other strategies you are able to teach me besides the ones that I have already learned?
