Makes sure that the student understands and if they dont have time to finish or figure out something during the session he will go out of his way to send an email with material to help understand the topic and even complete the steps on the problem that wasnt completed during the session in order for it to make sense to the student. Willing to communicate with the teacher to make sure they are going together on what is being taught to the student and plans lessons ahead however will change lesson if something else is given to the student last minute for a quiz or test.

We are so grateful for the proffessors services. He is very attentive to our algebra challenges and we really appreciate his non intimidating approach. Also, he is flexible with scheduling and pricing within our budget and we really appreciate it. We cant express enough our appreciation for the proffessor. By the way our daughter likes him to.

    Frequently asked questions

You have to determine the level of mathematics the student is operating in cluding the weaknesses and strengths in order to move forward the student must correct his weaknesses

    Tutoring Techniques:

First, I watch the student solve the problem and then we discuss any mistakes. The key is not just to identify and correct the mistake but identify the reason which is the actual cause of the mistake. Does the student not know how to do the problem? Does the student have the required prerequisite knowledge ? What type of error did the student make? As an experienced teacher. I have learned to identify common student errors and how to correct them. What is the student’s  attitude about math?  Do they have a fear of math? What is their past experience in their math classes?

I enjoyed learning about math in high School and it was natural for me to want to help others in the subject. I had to choose between a major in engineering or a math degree. I had more of an internal desire to teach so I choose to major in math education.

I have worked with all levels of students from basic math though calculus 3. I have taught students with various disabilities including a student having cerebral palsy to a student who had major paralysis. Both students through effort of their own as well as my effort to tutor them passed the course.

Learning that my student who is taking algebra 1 honors earned a C on her last test, which is the highest grade she has earned so far.

Watching the Seminoles best the Gators as well as Oklahoma.  Watching the jaguars win their division.
