About

I found middle and highschool to be extremely challenging. The subjects were not engaging for me, and I found myself falling behind. I quickly realized it was my mindset and that learning can be fun if you are given the right resources and materials! I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University with Dean's List and I am currently a Graduate Student at Florida State University (working from Jacksonville, FL). School can be fun and I am here to provide special resources and study techniques that make learning exciting! Not all subjects in school are created equally; history and science are very different and require different approaches. I believe if I can change the mindset about certain school subjects, the student has the full potential to excel!

She focuses on a reward system and instead of telling you what you do wrong, she reinforces the good and helps to improve your mindset about school. I think it makes a good difference.

Frequently asked questions

I like to have a meeting with the student first, in person or Zoom (whichever is more comfortable for the student) to get a feel for what subjects they are confident in, versus what we need to work on. I like to get a good idea as to study methods they are currently using so we can figure out why they do or don't work. I also believe in student empowerment and I like to know what makes them feel empowered; is it words of affirmation (Great Job! You nailed it!), small gifts (Candies, pens, etc.), or is it academic validity (Getting straight A's)? In our first meeting we will not focus on studying, rather building a connection and figuring out strengths and weaknesses.

I have tutored all ages from elementary to college aged students. I posess a Bachelor of Science, as well as I am currently pursuing my Master of Science, followed by my Doctorate.

Our first meeting to establish a connection and figure out proper studying techniques is always free. After that, I price my tutoring at 30 minutes ($30), 60 minutes ($60), and 90 minutes ($90). I find that after 90 minutes, students do not retain information as well and they need longer breaks. I am available via Zoom or meeting at the student's house or a public location (coffee shop, Barnes and Noble, etc.). I do charge $10 per week for travel, but this includes as many tutoring sessions as the student would like (If we do two 30 minute sessions a week, it is $60 plus $10 for travel, resulting in $70 for the whole week).

I struggled in school mainly due to poor study techniques and no motivation to learn the basic subjects. In college, I found my passion for school and for teaching. After my Doctorate, I plan on teaching University Students as a Professor!

All students from middle school to college! I have worked with students with learning disabilities such as ADD and ADHD.

I graduated a semester early with my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, also graduating with Dean's List! I was also accepted into every Graduate program I applied to! I never thought this would be possible 5 years ago, and I am absolutely thrilled to be on the right path!

The connection needs to work not only for the tutor but for the student, after all, you are the main priority! If the student is not seeing improvement with me, there are absolutely no hard feelings and I just want what is best for the student!

Do the teachers fully understand your needs? Do you have learning disabilities, do you need more time to understand the material, what about lesson plans? There are so many resources and materials that should be made available to the student and I believe this can make the difference between falling behind and souring ahead.
