I have two guiding philosophies that serve as my motivation. Every student can learn if they want to learn. Every student should be given every chance to succeed. I believe by enabling students to learn in their best way, meeting them where they're at, and allaying fears it goes a long way in securing a more successful educational experience. When the student reaches that aha moment, that is what makes the work worth it.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would begin by helping them to understand the exact nature of the concern. I would do so by starting a dialogue and asking questions. It would be through this method I would discover what the concerns are, exactly. By having purposeful and conclusive discussions with the customer, it can lay a solid foundation for the creation of a successful outcome.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had to deliver training to numerous types of audiences. This includes one on one training, classes centered around specific topics, leading professional development sessions, and acting as a support-teacher for new and other professionals. The participants found my training to be useful especially with regard to improving productivity of their own work and their charges' work. After experiencing great success in working with and training others, I would love the opportunity to expand on these experiences by fostering more success within education.

Standard rate of $25 per hour, discounted 10% for 5 or more hours.
How did you get started teaching?
I began working with students when I was working on my undergraduate degree at Towson University. I worked with mostly undergraduate college age students within the social sciences, writing classes, and with essay writing. I continued to hang out a shingle and work with individual students while completing my Master’s Degree during the following few years and expanded my experience to work with high school age students within the social sciences, english, and essay writing. I secured a full-time teaching position which I held for five years just outside of Washington, DC working with many levels of students across the school system particularly with a focus on state and standardized testing, English, government, and the humanities. I look forward to working with you and your students to meet and exceed their goals!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children and adults on a wide range of topics including essay writing, English Language Learning, various core subjects and specialities.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Pick someone who is compassionate and willing to meet you where you are. The person you work with should first and foremost be your advocate.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I believe students should feel comfortable going to any teacher about any need.
