Bethany's English Tutoring
About
I'm a college student who is in school to be a high school english teacher, which means I love English and know a lot about it. I have been tutoring since I was 13, first at an elementary level and then moving up as I got older and more experienced. I tutored at Central Riverside Elementary School for a couple of years, and I teach art to children in my spare time.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know my students first and find out what they struggle with in specific, whether it be concepts or a specific issue with the content they are currently learning. I like teaching in a public place, like a coffee shop, because I find that the ambience always helps me focus and in turn will help other students focus. Plus, it provides a level of saftey for both my students and myself. We will spend time going over some of their past homework and assignments so I can see if there are any trends with their work, and we can work from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently in school to learn how to be a high school english teacher, but I have spent many years tutoring both my peers and those younger than me in a variety of subjects. I am most comfortable with English but don't mind dipping into math, Algebra and lower. I tutored for several years at Central Riverside, and I attended Stanton College Prep in my high school years and was a tutor to many of my peers there.
