About

I have an undergraduate degree in psychology from UCF, and I was asked to be Teacher's Assistant (T.A) three separate times, twice in psychology courses, and once more in Statstics for Psychology. I also volunteered in the psychology research department.

My first experience tutoring began in the fourth grade when I was first asked to help kindergarten students learning to read. This continued throughout middle and into high school. For example, my junior year of high school I was a teaching assistant in P.E and English. Then, during my senior year, I volunteered twice a week for a peer tutoring program in the subjects English, Trigonometry, and Chemistry.

Aside from my eduation and past teaching experience, I am also a parent myself. Additionally, I am a naturally patient, compassionate, and empathetic person. I strive to provide a positive, supportive, and effective learning environment.

I try to identify each individual student's strengths and weaknesses. I create personalized lessons centered on the student's strengths and weaknesses. Over time, I help teach each student how to beat utilize their strengths and while learning to recognize and successfully navigate their weaknesses.

My teaching style demonstrates my passion and thirst for knowledge, and my goal is to create a spark of eagerness to learn in everyone I meet.

Helping a student to comprehend a concept or subject they had previously been failing or struggling in gives me such a feeling of accomplishment.

I strive for every one of my students to see that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. My strongest objection is when a person completely gives up on learning an entire subject with the excuse "I'm just bad at math, English, writing, etc."

I believe every student has the capacity to most people just need the right teacher. I love to learn and I try to inspire the same passion and thirst for knowledge in everyone I meet.

My daughter loves working with Ashley and understands her in a way that I can not get through to her. She has that vibe that kids are just drawn to and an understanding of kids that is naturally genuine. You know she loves kids and was born to be a teacher.

    Frequently asked questions

Well, every student is unique. What works for one student may not work for others. However, I do observe each student I'm working with

I graduated from FSCJ with my A.S. in 2011 & immediately transferred to UCF in Orlando graduating in 2013 receiving my B.S. in psychology.
While at UCF I was chosen on two occasions by two different professors to be a Teaching Assistant. Both classes had 300+ students and I was responsible for helping grade papers, tests, grade averages. Like the course Professors, I also had office hours twice a week to help ensure all 300+ students enrolled in the class had ample opportunity for one on one questions to be answered, help with assignments, grading concerns etc.

No, I do not. I feel there are several important variables to consider regarding cost.  A few examples would include the distance traveled per session, length of each session, duration of tutoring sessions, the student's age, as well as the student's learning style are all factors I take into consideration before pricing is determined.

I have always wanted to teach, however, my earliest tutoring session was in elementary school. I  was selected by the faculty to help a handful of students who were struggling to read and I simply fell in love with it.

    Preschool, Elementary, middle, high school.
