Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically in the first session I would have with a student, I would spend some time getting to know them and their academic goals. That way I can construct a schedule for them to follow that would allow them to achieve said goals.
Tutoring time consists of a lecture (if a student is unfamiliar with a concept), followed by some example problems done by me, followed by the student preforming the problems under instructor guidance. The goal is to ease the student into being able to solve said problems independently.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The first session a student has is always free.
A one hour session costs $20 dollars, a 1 and a half hour session costs $27.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always appreciated my teachers who have allowed me to pursue my passions in math, and have always wanted to pay the favor foward towards the next generation of students.
That sentiment was the impetus for me volunteering for a non-profit that provides free online tutoring, which I did for 9 months.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with secondary school students from Grades 7-12.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Everyone has a diffrent style of learning, so find a teacher that complements that.
