I am excited about teaching because of the sheer diversity of teaching opportunities as well as the diversity of the learners. My professional experience of 50 years includes teaching English, Communication, and Education courses in higher education to adult learners in diversified contexts which renders me competent for this position. Not only have I worked at university level but I have also worked in the field of ELT as a tutor and as an ELT trainer which I served in the capacity of English language teacher, Officer-in-charge, teacher trainer and curriculum coordinator. I have also worked at the British Council in the capacity of IELTS examiner and trainer, and ICFE examiner. I have very sound knowledge of TOEFL as well and have instructed students privately. I taught GSCE A-Level English composition for 20 years. My communication teaching experience of 30 years includes teaching at both BBA and MBA levels. My additional training experience is in the field of professional and academic writing at the Institute of Business Management. I have worked in the areas of curriculum development, soft skills development, teacher training in pedagogy, business communication, teaching research skills at MPhil level and academic writing at all levels across the curriculum at this institution. During the pandemic I taught online through an LMS (Moodle) which I am proficient in. I have been working for Upswing as a writing tutor in the Writing Lab as well tutoring online actively recently.
