About
Hi! I am an undergraduate student at Florida International University (FIU) with a love for English and Social Studies.
As a student interested in pursuing a career in the field of Foreign Service, I am consistently practicing my skills as a writer and reader through tutoring and excelling in classes.
I am currently serving as a Youth Delegate and representative of North America at the 23rd Session of the UN's Youth Assembly. I am a Staff Writer for FIU's Her Campus Chapter and have contributed several articles to the organization's website. I use the platform to broaden my writing skills and offer tips, such as, how students with ADD/ADHD can succeed in college without having to take medication.
Out of all of my writing and social studies classes, I have never received a grade less than an 'A.' I am proficient in most writing styles and will proofread work and give constructive critique.
I enjoy helping students, especially those with ADD/ADHD, succeed both academically and socially. Not only would tutoring benefit the student, but it would also benefit me as well in terms of improving several interpersonal skills (i.e. teaching and time management).
Hearing students doing better in school because of my tutoring really boosts my confidence and allows me to continue tutoring them with a passion.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would first ask the student to provide me with examples of their work to see where it is they are currently lacking. Examples can be past homework or test assignments provided by the teacher.
If the student is a minor, I would meet with the parent(s) to discuss their expectations before proceeding with a tutoring session.
I would then schedule a time and date to meet with the student and go over their strengths and weaknesses in reading/writing. From there, I will be able to schedule times within the tutoring sessions that will allow the student to improve on their weaknesses and strengths.
The introduction process may differ for some students, however, the method above is one I generally use.
How did you get started teaching?
I had tutored for 2 years prior to joining Tutors.com. I tutored twin girls, both in elementary school, and helped improve their grades. I was able to care for their individual needs, for instance, I provided harder reading assignments for the student who had an advanced level of reading while I spent more one-on-one time with the student who was lagging behind.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have experience tutoring students ranging in age from K-18 years old and am patient enough to understand the needs of students who are struggling with ADD/ADHD or learn at their own pace.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be prepared to receive feedback that may not always be positive and to be open in terms of improving your work. Tutors are meant to help you excel so whatever feedback you receive is meant to help guide you. Never expect them to write your essays for you.
