About
For many years, I was a professor of Classics (Latin, Ancient Greek, ancient history).
Since my retirement, I have successfully tutored students aged 7 to 71.
This May a student of mine earned five (out of five) in AP Latin in the NINTH grade.
My Classcis publications include 17 articles, 2 encyclopedia entries, and a book on Vergil's Aeneid.
Working with students as they discover how Latin increases the range and accuracy of their English vocabulary and the precision of their English sentence structure; how Latin opens up to them a fascinating ancient civilization, which has shaped much of the modern world; and, ultimately, how Latin introduces them to a great literature.

When I started Latin classes with Professor Farron several years ago, in sixth grade, I quickly found out that he is by far the most knowledgable man I know. My classes with him have exposed me to far more than what I had originally wanted to learn, and he has not only educated me more than any other instructor I have ever had, but has given me a passion for learning that I will keep with me for the rest of my life - something few teachers have the ability to do. My classes with Professor Farron have been well-rounded, comprehensive, and totally geared to my needs and interests. He has an excellent ability for teaching, a genuine desire to see me learn, and is very accommodating to my schedule. He is a first rank tutor and a superlative mentor. For me, the education I have had, and continue to have, with Professor Farron has been extraordinary. I am sure he will engage and inspire any new student in the same way.
