Minor's Math Tutoring
About
I am good at breaking the mathematics down into more comprehendable chunks and creating a method for a student to follow for different types of problems.
I have experience teaching at the high school level covering Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Probability and Statistics, as well as long-term substitute teaching in Pre-Calculus and Calculus. I have also worked in the tutoring field with the Sylvan Learning Center in Greenville, SC as well as tutoring at the Math Emporium at Virginia Tech. At the Sylvan Learning Center I tutored all levels of math ranging from 1st grade up through AP Calculus and SAT prep. At the Math Emporium at Virginia Tech I assisted students with 6 different 1000 level math classes which included various styles of calculus designed for Engineers, Architects, and Business students.
Outside of working through another company I have tutored friends, family, coworkers, and friends of friends with a variety of mathematics, including preparing for their GED, various high school math classes, and the GRE.
I enjoy seeing the ah-ha moment when a student understands a concept, and working to get a student excited about mathematics, as I was when I was a student.

I have a B.S. in Mathematics with a focus on Secondary Education from Virginia Tech, and then a M.A.T. with a focus on Mathematics from Clemson University. I have been certified to teach high school mathematics in both South Carolina and Florida.
