What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually start off by asking my students to explain their understanding of the topic in their own words. From there I adjust to their needs and start working with them at a pace that is comfortable for them. Most of my work as a tutor is example based. I will explain concepts and steps for solving problems. However, I believe that students learn best by practicing and repetition. I work on the problems alongside the students.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My highest level of education obtained is an associate's degree in \engineering from Miami Dade College. Currently, I am a fourth-year bachelor's civil engineering student at the University of Florida. Previously, I worked as a tutor, peer assistant, and faculty assistant at Miami Dade College.
