About

The moment our lesson begins, I have already extensively reviewed the material we will be going over and discussing, meaning I come prepared more than most. From personal experience, there is nothing worse than a tutor trying to learn the material as they go through the lesson with you. Nothing gets done, and it's a waste of both time and money. That's not how I do things. Not only have I extensively studied this material while working towards my degree, but I make sure to review every nook and cranny of the subject at hand before our lesson. I'm patient, I'm focused, and I'm determined. By the time our lesson is done, you will have a clear understanding of the material we went over.

Not only do I love the material I teach, as science has always been a passion of mine, but allowing my students to fully grasp a concept, or finally getting that idea to "click" with them, is rewarding in a way that's difficult to describe. In short, there's no better feeling then seeing my students progress and succeed thanks to the hard work we put in.

Scott was very kind and took the time to really make sure I knew everything before we moved on to something new. Definitely recommend, 5/5!

Frequently asked questions

When a new student reaches out to me, the first thing I ask them to do, before our first lesson, is to let me know which subject areas we will be focusing on specifically, so I come fully prepared to help them as best I can. I like to get a good idea of which subject areas the students are comfortable with, and which they're having difficulty with, so I know what to focus the lesson time on the most. After explaining a topic, I will often have my students attempt to "teach" it back to me as best they can. Attempting to do so forces them to wrap their mind around every corner of the material, and quickly exposes gaps in their understanding of said material. I'm very patient, and I always make sure my students leave my lessons with a deep rooted understanding of what we were working on.

In two months, I will be graduating with my B.S. in neuroscience. I've studied biology and Neuroscience extensively, as well as a variety of other subjects. I plan on getting my PHD in the future. I have worked as an aid at Bayview Elementary School in the past, helping students with a variety of different subjects.

I have mostly worked with children in elementary school, but have also worked with a handful of high school students.
