Teaching experience in many subjects for 20 years in the classroom as well as virtually. I have taught grades 3-12 in many different subjects. I was a teacher trainer for many years as well as served on the math curriculm team.
I love working with students one on one. You are able to dig deep into their understanding of a concept and help them explore those gaps more proficiently then in a classroom setting.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Introduce ourselves and set expectations. Evaluate the student and where they are at and what we need to do to get to proficiency.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters degree in education. I have been teaching for 20 years in all facets of education from elementary to middle school to high school. I have taught in the classroom as well as online in a virtual setting. I was also a teacher trainer for many years as well as a math consultant.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Usually work on an hourly basis but can be flexible on that.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching was a passion of mine since I was a little kid.
What types of students have you worked with?
ESL, low income, virtual, elementary, middle, and high school of all ranges in ability.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Choose someone who has experience in the field you need not a teacher who has taught other subjects.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How will that teacher find the gaps in their learning and what are the strategies to get that student to the next level. Also schedule is important.
