Reading With Patty

My name is Patty and I have 23 years of experience in the fields of Literacy, Special Education, and ESOL. I started my profession as a middle school reading teacher in New Jersey. It has always been my husband's dream to live in Florida. So we decided to make the move six years ago. At that time I began teaching third, fourth, and fifth grade students with varying exceptionalities in Sarasota. I've decided to take some time off from teaching full time in order to pursue my passion for working with students in an individualized setting.

The following is a list of my certifications and credentials: Masters of Arts in Urban Education with a concentration in Bilingual Education (Spanish), Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Elementary Education, New Jersey Certifications- Teacher of the Handicapped, Elementary School Teacher, Teacher of Bilingual Education, Teacher of English as a Second Language, Florida Certifications- Exceptional Education and Elementary Education.

I am passionate about tutoring because I am able to design and employ diverse teaching techniques to allow students to reach their full potential.
