Cindy has been an incredible support for Olivia, both academically and personally. She doesn’t just tutor her, she truly pays attention to the everything that can affect her ability to learn and where she is getting stuck.
She has helped Olivia stay on top of her schoolwork during some very demanding periods, especially when assignments were piling up online, she was quick to communicate when it wasn’t the material that was holding her back but rather the eye strain and fatigue were making it harder to focus. Cindy took the extra step of printing study materials, breaking down large workloads into manageable goals, and helping Olivia prioritize what truly needed immediate attention versus what could be planned ahead. Thanks to this, Olivia is learning how to organize herself better and take responsibility for her work and communicate with her teachers.
Cindy is also incredibly thoughtful in how she communicates with me as a parent. She keeps me informed about academic progress, missing or misreported assignments, grading inconsistencies, and even classroom policies that might affect Olivia’s performance. She doesn’t just point out problems, she helps think through solutions and encourages Olivia to advocate for herself with her teachers when appropriate.
What I appreciate most is how emotionally present Cindy is. She notices when Olivia is anxious, tired, hungry, or discouraged, and she responds with empathy, encouragement, and calm guidance. Whether it’s helping Olivia work through a stressful social moment, boosting her confidence, or literally making sure she eats when she hasn’t had the chance, Cindy shows genuine care that goes far beyond academics.
Olivia feels supported, capable, and understood when she works with Cindy, and that confidence carries over into her schoolwork and test preparation, including the SSAT. We are truly grateful for Cindy’s dedication, patience, and heart. She has made a meaningful difference for our daughter.
