Science Ahead Tutoring
About
Science is my passion and I love to share that with other students. I take great joy in helping students that may be uninterested in science and help them get over any speed bumps that they feel may be holding them back. I am currently a middle school Science and Robotics STEM teacher and have been tutoring for about 3 years. I graduated from the FIUTeach Program in 2018 with my bachelors in Earth Science Education. I currently work at Tequesta Trace middle school in Weston teaching Science and STEM Engineering/Robotics.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before I accept any service, I always make sure the content the student needs help in is within my capabilities to help. Once an appropiate time and platform is agreed upon, the session is scheduled. By knowing the student's present needs I can better prepare for the session and make the session as efficient and productive as possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the nationally recognized FIUTeach program with my degree in earthscience eduacation. I have also been teaching at a middle school both science and Engineering/Robotics for about 3 years. I am skilled in working with all students including student with IEPs, ELL, and Gifted.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I normally charge $30 for a one hour session and $15 for each aditional student in the session (upto a total of 5). Aditional students within the session must need tutoring for the same topic, otherwise a seperate session must be scheduled.
How did you get started teaching?
It is what I have always loved and went to college for. Naturally I became a science teacher as that is my favorite subject. Although I do enjoy writing, math, and engineering.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with gifted, regular, IEP, and Spanish ELL students for the past 3 years.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
make sure the tutor knows specifically the content area in which youn need help in, not just the general subject.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why am I struggling in this area? What factors are holding me back from learning or understanding this topic? What do I expect my tutor to help me with? What ways do I learn best so my tutor can differenciate my instruction?
