About
Hello, I'm Greeshma! I am a 3rd year medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, with a summa cum laude degree in Neuroscience and Chemistry from UMiami.
------------------------------------------------------
I have been teaching/tutoring for over 6 years now in subjects such as mathematics (from Pre-algebra to Calculus 2), science (biology, chemistry, psychology, etc. from a middle school to senior undergraduate/MCAT level), English, and test prep (for PSAT/SAT/ACT/FSA and more). Apart from tutoring, I am also a science educator at Booker T. Washington High School, where I lead the general science curriculum for 9th-12th graders. I genuinely love teaching and I am passionate about helping others exceed their own academic goals!
------------------------------------------------------
Personally, I have graduated from UMiami undergraduate with a perfect 4.0 GPA, I graduated valedictorian of my IB high school with a 4.0 GPA, I have taken (and tutored) IBs/APs ranging from Chemistry to Calc BC to English, and I have scored 1580 on the SAT (with a perfect 800 on math), 35 on the ACT. As a medical student with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience, I have experience with math/science/English/pre-med courses from a middle school to university level! I love teaching, and I would love to help you or your children succeed in school! 🙂
Since I started teaching, I have become very passionate about helping other students like me reach and exceed their goals. My favorite part of teaching is seeing the self-esteem and confidence boost throughout the journey!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know what the student's preferred method of learning is first. Then, I formulate a personalized learning plan so that the student learns as effectively as possible!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. I have a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Chemistry from the University of Miami. I am also a science educator at Booker T. Washington High School and a certified Math/Science and ACT/SAT teacher at Sylvan Learning Centers. I have been tutoring science/math/English/SAT/ACT/Test Prep for 4 years now.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I entered college, where I fell in love with the process of helping others reach the "aha!" moment! Since then, I have taught classes, tutored middle-high schoolers, and even became a science educator at a local high school. I have gained a passion for teaching, and plan to incorporate teaching into my future career as an academic physician.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many different students, ranging from middle school to college-age, in subjects ranging from science to math to test prep. I also have experience working with students with ADHD.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently helped a student in high school score an A+ on her AP Calculus final, bringing her grade up from a C to an A!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise a student to look for tutors who want to see them succeed - the goal is to no longer need a tutor!
