Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All services begin with a parent consultation, including an IEP review if a child has qualified for ESE services. Then each student is assessed to identify areas of concern. A custom program, based on current research and Florida standards, is then created. Parent are kept informed at each stage in the process and a final assessment showing progress is provided.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been tutoring remotely since 2016 for students across the globe. I am a literacy specialist with 2 advanced degrees. I specialize in students that are a year or more below grade-level expectations in reading. My 20+ years of classroom teaching and private tutoring allows me to assess students for skill deficits and create custom learning programs.
