English Language And Literature
About
As a tutor who deals with both creative and formal English language and literature on a daily basis, I would be a good fit for children of all ages and all skill levels. I am an official IB graduate who took IB Lanaguage and Literature, as well as IB Literature as my HLs along with other HL social sciences. As a third culture kid who grew up in international schools located in six countries and across three continents, I have experienced and know my way around children who are picking up English as their supplementary language. I also know my way around children who consider English as their primary language who simply need assistance honing their skills. Considering I cater to children with a wide range of comfort levels with the English language, the adaptability of my teaching methods is a priority to ensure the children retain knowldge in the most efficient manner. To top it off, I can relate to the workload that today's children receive at school, and therefore I believe regardless of the type of assiatnce needed, I will be of use to you.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I structure my lessons around the student, and because I cater to students who have differing comfort levels with the English language, all lesson plans look different. I draft up monthly lesson plans for every individual after our initial meeting, and every week from that point forward I revise the lesson plan and edit it depending on effectiveness of approaches/teaching styles. As mentioned before, the first meeting will be more of a "get to know each other" structure, meaning it will be informal. I will have questions to aid in determining the best teaching style for every individual reardless of what they want or need from these sessions. Again, my lessons are very much so tailored to every individual therefore there is no cookie cutter lesson plan that I can provide, considering everyone learns differently.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Although I'm young and only a high school graduate, I took IB courses in high school and I am an IB diploma graduate. Higher level "English Literature" and "English Language & Literature" were the two courses I was most proficient in, and I am currently a college student pusuing a degree of science in mass communication meaning I dabble in all the forms of langauge and literature.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge by the lesson, however I am flexible with the payment date whether it be weekly or monthly.
English as a first langauge:
15 minute lesson = $7
30 minute lesson = $15
60 minute lesson = $23
English as a supplementary language:
30 minute lesson = $18
60 minute lesson = $30
90 minute lesson = $45
Prices are negotiable. I'm very flexible because I understand that not everyone needs an intricate 60 minute lesson with me.
