About
My specialty is in teaching reading, written language, and test preparation. I have been successful at motivating all kinds of learners.
I have experience with both General education and special education students having taught children with Special needs in the public school systems of Massachusetts and Florida for 41 years. For 6 of those years I served as a response to intervention facilitator with the general education population assisting teachers with varied learning programs and strategies, organizing and facilitating meetings with parents and school professionals, and providing individual and small group intensive education I also have been trained and certified in ESOL
I have a masters degree in counseling psychology and apply varied and stimulating motivational techniques in my work with students. Some students are reluctant learners due to failure to learn as instructed. There are many learning styles and my teaching targets students’ strengths and optimizes success by understanding this.
My basic philosophy is that learning is fun and accessible to all children
Teaching has been my lifelong profession and I have always had a passion for learning as well as teaching. I enjoy seeing students start to enjoy learning and experience success. It is very rewarding to see a student understand their learning style and unlock their personal keys to learning.
