Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We meet for a one-time consultation that lasts for three hours. We discuss 1) Where the student is now and hopes to be for college, 2) The lessons plans and calendar of sessions and 3) Financial aid and Scholarships. Depending on the start date, we will likely meet every other month. Families still have access by phone or text seven days a week throughout the year.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've attended eight colleges myself, taught for over ten years, worked as a college advisor at a public high school and completed the school guidance master's program. I also have to visit 25 colleges per year and attend at least two national conferences related to college admissions.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Rates are bases on when a student starts and where they wish to attend, along with whether or not they will be seeking some type of financial assistance. In other words, pricing is based on what it is that you wish to receive advising for. Every single family is different in their needs.
