I am a certified Firefighter/Paramedic for 8 years. Home schooling my three boys ages 9, 7 and 4 has been an extremely rewarding experience and I would like to take what I have learned to try and help others who may be struggling in some areas of learning.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I prefer to speak with the student on their soecific goals. I feel like it's important to learn what the student is expecting to get out of the lesson and work from there. I also like to learn the students learning and study habits. I can better formulate a plan when I know the best way to approach a specific topic.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a paramedic I use math in areas such as dosage calculations. Having homeschooled my three boys has also provided me with real world training as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually prefer to get some information from the student before pricing my lessons.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure to be willing to put in to this experience what you are looking to get out of it. My advice to learning in general is to give it the focus and attention it deserves. That way both the instructor and the student can work together and ultimately find success.
