What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Getting to know my students is my primary approach. Learning about their strengths and weaknesses is essential in order to select the most appropriate teaching strategies and to provide optimal attention and service to their needs. Assessing student's goals is followed by establishing Learning Targets and Lesson Objectives, Plans, and Activities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Certified English Teacher, Certified ESOL Teacher, and a Master's Level Mental Health Counselor, with 30 years of experience teaching students from grades k through 12, and 5 years teaching graduate level courses to college students.

My professional rates range from $35.00-$60.00 hourly, contingent on the subject, content, and grade level: (k-8), (9-12), (graduate).
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching thirty years ago for the Department of Education; Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. I taught English as a Second Language to Ninth grade level students for ten consecutive years. In addition, I taught part time English at the University of Puerto Rico as an Adjunct Professor.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with Second Language Learners from Grades K through 12 for over thirty years. In addition, I have also worked with local English Speakers and Graduate Level college students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond of my last High School students' accomplishments in passing State Assessments and SAT/ACT Assessments. Alongside, I felt honored in being recognized as one of Florida's Top High Impact Teacher.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I'd recommend the students to search for a knowledgeable teacher or tutor that offers structure, commitment, and dedication to go the extra mile in helping them meet their educational and personal goals.

Students should think thoroughly about their utmost goals and specific educational needs.
